Koknese medieval castle ruins
On their wedding day, newlyweds are invited to experience ancient Latvian wedding traditions in the romantic setting of the medieval Koknese Castle Ruins.
Admission fees:
- Adults – 2.50 EUR
- Pensioners, schoolchildren and students (upon presentation of a valid ID) – 2.00 EUR
- Politically repressed persons – 1.00 EUR
- Family ticket (2 adults and 2 or more children under 18) – 6.00 EUR
- Annual pass for Koknese municipality residents (2 adults and 2 or more children under 18) – 5.00 EUR
Group discount: 10% for groups of 20 or more people.
Free admission:
- Preschool children;
- People with disabilities (upon presentation of a valid ID).
Card payments are accepted at the castle ruins.

Traditional Latvian Wedding Programme at Koknese Castle Ruins
The programme offers the newlyweds and their guests an opportunity to experience an ancient Latvian wedding ritual at Koknese Castle Ruins. During the ceremony, the bride is welcomed into her husband's homestead by crossing the Bridge of Happiness. The couple and their guests take part in traditional games and dances, symbolically saying farewell to childhood and youth and making offerings to fire and water.
During the wedding ritual, the newlyweds exchange traditional Latvian brooches (saktas) or bracelets. The first family hearth is lit, and the couple mints their first shared coin, symbolising a happy and prosperous life together.
Programme duration: 40 minutes.

Boats “Sēlis” and “Vīgante”
Each boat can accommodate up to 36 passengers. For larger groups, both boats can carry up to 60 guests simultaneously across their two decks.
A wedding ceremony can also be held on board. An important advantage is that the event will not be affected by weather conditions, as the boats are equipped with transparent walls to protect passengers in bad weather.
The boats are equipped with tables for refreshments and snacks.

Boat “Gulbis”
The elegant, snow-white boat “Gulbis” offers both a venue for wedding ceremonies and wedding transport. It takes wedding guests on a cruise along the Daugava River in Koknese, departing from Likteņdārzs or Koknese Medieval Castle Ruins.
The boat comfortably accommodates 20 people and is equipped with an audio system and cabin heating. It can also be decorated for the celebration, creating a beautiful and truly regal atmosphere!

Guided by the motto “Celebrate Today and Enjoy the Moment”, Agnese offers decoration services for wedding ceremonies and reception venues, as well as indoor and outdoor event styling. She creates photo corners and decorates locations for photo sessions.
Ceremony arches are available for rent, with delivery possible. Chairs are available for rent with delivery only.
A treehouse or a terrace above the river can also be rented for small celebrations. Venue rental costs 20 EUR per hour. Snacks and drinks can also be ordered. Tableware and chairs are available for rent.

Likteņdārzs – A Venue for Weddings and Celebrations of All Sizes
Amphitheatre
The Amphitheatre is the central and symbolic heart of Likteņdārzs. Located on the banks of the Daugava River, it is a semicircular event venue featuring a lawn and paved pathways.
The Amphitheatre is surrounded by an arrangement of grey stones, a symbolic honour guard of oak trees and a canal with two small bridges crossing it. At its centre, Latvian flags fly from 12-metre-high flagpoles.
This is a place with a special atmosphere and energy, offering a wonderful backdrop for photographs against both the stone landscape and the water.
Maximum capacity: 1,000 guests.

Viewing Terrace
The Viewing Terrace extends above the Daugava River, offering magnificent natural views of the flowing water, the green riverbanks and the medieval castle ruins on the opposite bank.
The terrace is built on two levels. The lower platform is protected from wind and rain by a glass wall. The Viewing Terrace is illuminated after dark.
A boat pier is located nearby, allowing event guests to enjoy a cruise along the Daugava River.
Maximum capacity: 30 guests.

Heart Stone Meadow
A spacious lawn with landscaped greenery, located directly on the banks of the Daugava River, near the Heart Stone – a large stone shaped like a heart.
According to legend, the stone brings happiness to newlyweds and love to those with broken hearts.
The Koknese Lutheran Church can be seen opposite the Heart Stone Meadow. Nearby are the pier for the Viking longboat “Nameisis” and a well-equipped picnic area with facilities for making a fire.
In July, the meadow is beautifully adorned with daylilies blooming in every colour of the rainbow.
