“Everything that is simple and genuine is great and beautiful” – these words were reflected in the life of Voldemārs Jākobsons, a graduate of the Art Academy of Latvia, member of the Latvian Artists’ Union, sculptor, teacher, boxing champion and traveller who explored Europe.
Upon crossing the threshold of the house, visitors are welcomed not only by the works created by Jākobsons, but also by a glimpse into the era in which he lived. The collection includes antique household objects and furniture, a collection of footwear featuring the traveller’s impressive boots, a small library and photographs.
Visits to the memorial house are possible by prior appointment only.
